CMMI Level 2 Criteria and Merits of Training!

While every IT firm as well as software development teams would be hunting for a CMMI training course that can help put them at par with the established firms and larger corporate firms in the industry – it is not so easy.

As far as attaining the CMMI level 2 criteria is concerned, there are 5 points you should be able to achieve. Check below –

1.    First is that the software project should have a roadmap or a project plan to help guide them through.
2.    A project manager who is able to assign and supervise the work to the team is a pre-requisite.
3.    Adequate resource allotment as well as utilization is both important for any CMMI Level 2 firm to function smoothly and provide quality output – either as a valued product or services.
4.    To ensure that the project manager is a PMP certified associate and can direct the technical and personnel aspect of the project in a seamless manner.
5.    The final parameter is demanding of software project managers to receive "training in the finer and technical aspects of the project that helps in the final IT work output and business ROI.

If you have employed the best of project management training courses and veteran trainers in pursuit of CMMI training for your staff – you will emerge with a much better CMMI Level than you had initially targeted for.

IF not, you will probably be worse off than you had been before you invested the sum of money into the project to train people in your team!

Busting Project Management Training Myths – Part II

Continuing from the previous post on the myths surrounding the project management training industry and how the truth and the core issues have been sidelined from the basics, we will explore more and keep busting them as they come!

Here are more myths that you should know and shake off your radar right away!

  • Traditional project management course basics are not obsolete – in fact they are all the more important, with the IT industry going global and needing a level platform for people to measure performances and outputs across platforms and technical streams. Anybody who says that their project management certification courses cost less because they stick to the basics is bluffing!
  • Best employees don’t need to enroll. Wrong. In fact – you need to hire the best people and then enroll them first up in the project management courses –for they will grasp the details faster and will be able to execute the tenets of project management better into the whole workflow and cause systemic changes in the firm!
  • Existent project managers don’t need training. Again, you cannot risk it. A lot of project managers have become so through their experience on-field and have not had the chance to go through a regimented CMMI training course. Get the practical enforced – and you will have a much better tram of leaders at your disposal by the time the training ends!

Keep your attention focused right here as we will return with the third and final part of the series on busting the worst myths affecting project management training in the industry!

Busting Project Management Training Myths – Part I!

Are you an accidental project manager? Or are you an experienced veteran who thinks project management training is anybody’s cup of tea? Well, for starters, there are hundreds of myths doing the rounds that are threatening to negate the importance of CMMI training courses or project management training online.

We have tried to bust some of these myths with project management courses in this three-part blog post series! Check the pointers out!

  • Bad training is better than no training. Well, it is better that you remain a novice and learn things on the field than trying to get geared up and executing everything in the wrong with bad training sessions. Investing in training that has no output is worse than saving all that money for business expansion purposes.
  • Price fads. No don’t fall for them. This is true for all aspects of the IT industry. In fact, if you are skeptical of the cheaper training sessions, try getting project management certification courses after evaluating their worth – not in monetary terms but in practical value they will offer post completion of training.
  • Project management training DOES NOT guarantee a better workforce or workflow. While it depends on your employees to be receptive and adaptive to changes recommended by CMMI training courses, how well they implement the same varies from department to department.

We bust more myths on project management courses in the next part of this blog series! Stay tuned!
